Day 1 – Interlaken-ല് എത്തിച്ചേരലും Alps-ന്റെ ആദ്യ കാഴ്ചയും
Zurich Airport to Interlaken Ost – Lucerne Interlaken Express
ഞങ്ങള് രാവിലെ Zurich airport-ല് landing ചെയ്തു. Arrival terminal-ന്റെ താഴെ തന്നെയുള്ള airport train station-ല് നിന്ന് Lucerne ഭാഗത്തേക്കുള്ള Swiss Federal Railways train എടുത്തു. Interlaken-ല് രണ്ട് train stations ഉള്ളത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?
Interlaken-ല് രണ്ട് പ്രധാന railway stations ഉണ്ട്: Interlaken West, Interlaken Ost. ഈ region-ലെ famous viewpoints-ലേക്കുള്ള main gateway Interlaken Ost ആണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളുടെ hotel Interlaken Ost station-ന് അടുത്തായി എടുക്കുന്നത് ഞങ്ങള് strongly recommend ചെയ്യും. ഓരോ ദിവസവും hotel-ല് നിന്ന് നടക്കിച്ച് station-ല് എത്തി next train-ല് കയറാം. ഈ ഒരു planning കൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് മണിക്കൂറുകളോളം bus ride avoid ചെയ്യാന് പറ്റി.

Evening Walk to Harder Kulm – Top of Interlaken
ആദ്യ evening ഞങ്ങള് simple ആയി വച്ചു. Interlaken മുഴുവന് മുകളില് നിന്ന് കാണാന് പറ്റുന്ന local mountain ആയ Harder Kulm-ലേക്ക് പോയി. Harder Bahn funicular station, Interlaken Ost station-ല് നിന്ന് വെറും 5 minute walk മാത്രം. Funicular forest-ന്റെ ഇടയിലൂടെ steep ആയി കയറി ഏകദേശം 10 മിനിറ്റില് top-ല് എത്തിക്കും.
Harder Kulm-ല് നിന്ന് Interlaken എന്ന പേരിന് കാരണമായ രണ്ട് lakes ഒരുമിച്ച് കാണാം. ദൂരത്ത് Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau എന്നിവ perfect line-ല് നില്ക്കുന്നത് പോലെ കാണും. Cliff-ല് നിന്ന് പുറത്തേക്ക് നീണ്ടുനില്ക്കുന്ന Two Lakes Bridge platform ആണ് ഇവിടെ trip-ലെ best photograph കിട്ടുന്ന spot. Sunset ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് കാണുന്നത് മറക്കാന് പറ്റാത്ത അനുഭവം ആണ്. Day 2 – Lauterbrunnen Valleyയും Mannlichen Ridgeഉം
Lauterbrunnen – 72 Waterfalls ഉള്ള Valley
അടുത്ത ദിവസം രാവിലെ Interlaken Ost-ല് നിന്ന് Lauterbrunnen-ലേക്കുള്ള early train പിടിച്ചു. Journey വെറും 20 മിനിറ്റ് മാത്രം, പക്ഷേ ഇവിടെ ആരും അധികം പറയാത്ത ഒരു കാര്യമുണ്ട്. Zweilutschinen station-ല് train രണ്ട് halves ആയി split ചെയ്യും. ഒരു half Lauterbrunnen-ലേക്ക് തുടരും, മറ്റേ half Grindelwald-ലേക്ക് പോകും. തെറ്റായ half-ല് ഇരുന്നാല് തെറ്റായ destination-ലാണ് എത്തുക. ഞങ്ങള് joking ആയി ഇതിനെ Kochi പോകേണ്ടിടത്ത് Chennai എത്തുന്ന mistake എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ഇരിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് ഓരോ coach-ലുമുള്ള digital sign എപ്പോഴും check ചെയ്യുക.

Valley-യുടെ രണ്ട് വശത്തും vertical cliffs ഉയരുന്നു, മുകളില് നിന്ന് പല streams ആയി വെള്ളം താഴേക്ക് വീഴും. ഏറ്റവും iconic ആയത് Staubbach Falls ആണ്. Village-ന്റെ അടുത്തായി ഏകദേശം 300 metres ഉയരത്തില് നിന്ന് ഒറ്റ fall ആയി താഴേക്ക് വീഴുന്ന waterfall. Staubbach-ന്റെ base വരെ പോകാന് free walking path ഉണ്ട്. Summer season-ല് waterfall-ന്റെ പിന്നിലൂടെ നടക്കാനും ചിലപ്പോള് പറ്റും.

Lauterbrunnen to Wengen – Cliffside Train
Lauterbrunnen-ല് നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങള് BLM mountain train എടുത്ത് Wengen-ലേക്ക് കയറി. Wengen ഒരു car free village ആണ്. Mountain-ന്റെ പകുതി ഉയരത്തില് green ledge-ല് പണിതിരിക്കുന്ന village; താഴെ നിന്ന് road access ഇല്ല. Train മാത്രമാണ് അവിടെ എത്താന് വഴി. Ride തന്നെ steep ആയി കയറും, താഴെ Lauterbrunnen valley bird’s eye view ആയി കാണാം. Wooden chalets, cowbells, Heidi storybook charm ഇതൊക്കെ ഉള്ള village ആണ് Wengen.
Wengen to Mannlichen – Royal Walk
Wengen-ല് നിന്ന് Mannlichen-ലേക്ക് direct cable car ഉണ്ട്. Harder Kulm-ല് നിന്ന് കാണുന്നതില് നിന്ന് completely different angle-ല് Alps കാണാന് പറ്റുന്ന hill point ആണ് Mannlichen. മുകളില് നിന്ന് Lauterbrunnen valley താഴേക്ക് നീളുന്നത് കാണാം, മുന്നില് Eiger massif ഉയരുന്നത് കാണാം. ഇവിടെ Royal Walk എന്ന് പേരുള്ള famous walking path ഉണ്ട്. Ridge-ന്റെ ഏറ്റവും മുകളിലുള്ള ചെറിയ viewpoint-ലേക്കാണ് അത് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നത്.
തുടങ്ങുമ്പോള് ചെറിയ walk പോലെ തോന്നും, പക്ഷേ actual-ല് steep ആണ്. അഞ്ച് മിനിറ്റില് almost top എത്തി എന്ന് ഞങ്ങള് കരുതി, പക്ഷേ trail പിന്നെയും നീണ്ടുപോയി. Proper walking shoes ധരിക്കുക, വെള്ളം കരുതുക, hurry ചെയ്യാതെ പോകുക. അവസാനം കിട്ടുന്ന 360 degree view ഓരോ step-നും worth ആണ്.

Day 3 – Schilthorn, Murren, James Bond Mountain
Stechelberg to Gimmelwald – ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും steep ആയ Cable Car
മൂന്നാം ദിവസം മുഴുവന് trip-ലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ favourite day ആയി മാറി. Schilthorn-ലേക്കുള്ള യാത്രയ്ക്കാണ് ആ ദിവസം മാറ്റിവച്ചത്. Interlaken Ost-ല് നിന്ന് Lauterbrunnen-ലേക്ക് train, അവിടെ നിന്ന് Stechelberg-ലേക്ക് short bus. Stechelberg-ല് നിന്ന് Murren-ലേക്ക് കയറുന്ന brand new aerial cable car-ല് കയറാം. Recently opened ചെയ്ത ഈ new section-ന് 159.4 percent gradient ഉണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇത് world-ലെ steepest cable car ആയി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
Cable car-ന് വഴിയില് രണ്ട് stops ഉണ്ട്. ആദ്യം Gimmelwald, പിന്നെ Murren. ഒരു മണിക്കൂര് മാത്രമെങ്കിലും Gimmelwald-ല് stop ചെയ്യാന് ഞങ്ങള് strongly recommend ചെയ്യും. Most tourists അതിനെ കടന്ന് നേരെ മുകളിലേക്ക് പോകും. Gimmelwald cattle farms, wooden chalets, almost zero tourist crowd ഉള്ള tiny mountain village ആണ്. Locals path-ന്റെ side-ല് farm fridge വയ്ക്കാറുണ്ട്. Fresh cheese, milk, yoghurt എന്നിവ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടാകും. നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് വേണ്ടത് എടുത്ത് ചെറിയ wooden box-ല് money ഇടാം. നമ്മള് Indians honestly പഠിക്കേണ്ട ഒരു old fashioned trust system ആണ് അത്.
Gimmelwald to Murren Walk – ഈ Region-ലെ Best Trail
Cable car നേരെ Murren-ലേക്ക് എടുക്കാതെ ഞങ്ങള് നടന്നു. Gimmelwald-ല് നിന്ന് Murren-ലേക്കുള്ള trail ഏകദേശം 45 മിനിറ്റ് എടുക്കും. Honestly, ഞങ്ങള് ചെയ്ത walks-ല് ഏറ്റവും beautiful ആയ ഒന്നാണ് ഇത്. Well maintained path, gentle climb, wildflowers, grazing cows, വലത് വശത്ത് മുഴുവന് സമയവും Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau views. കുറച്ചെങ്കിലും നടക്കാന് പറ്റുന്ന ആളാണെങ്കില് ഈ section miss ചെയ്യരുത്.
Schilthorn Cable Car പ്രത്യേകത എന്താണ്?
Murren-ല് നിന്ന് cable car Birg വഴി മുകളിലേക്ക് തുടരും. Birg-ല് glass floored Skyline Walk ഉണ്ട്, കൂടാതെ 200 metre rocky cliff walkway ആയ Thrill Walk ഉണ്ട്. ഞങ്ങള് Birg-ല് ഏകദേശം 30 മിനിറ്റ് stop ചെയ്തു. Thrill Walk-ല് glass panels ഉണ്ട്; അതിന് മുകളില് നില്ക്കുമ്പോള് താഴെയുള്ള rocks നൂറുകണക്കിന് metres താഴെ കാണാം. Heights പേടിയുള്ളവര് rail പിടിച്ച് slow ആയി breathe ചെയ്താല് മതി.

Cable cars രാവിലെ 7:55 AM മുതല് ഓരോ 30 മിനിറ്റിലും run ചെയ്യും, last downhill journey 4:55 PM. പോകുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് latest timetable എപ്പോഴും check ചെയ്യണം.
Schilthorn famous ആയത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്? James Bond Connection
Schilthorn top-ല് Piz Gloria എന്ന revolving restaurant ഉണ്ട്. നിങ്ങള് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് restaurant ഒരു full rotation complete ചെയ്യും. 1969 James Bond film ആയ “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”-ല് villain Blofeld-ന്റെ mountain hideout ആയി ഈ building വന്നിരുന്നു. Exclusive filming rights-ന് പകരം film crew ഈ building construction-ന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗം finance ചെയ്തു. ഇന്ന് lower floor-ല് Spy World എന്ന James Bond exhibition ഉണ്ട്. Original props, interactive cinema, bobsleigh ride simulator എന്നിവയും കാണാം.
Piz Gloria-ല് നിന്ന് കിട്ടുന്ന view unbelievable ആണ്. Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau ഉള്പ്പെടെ 200-ല് അധികം alpine peaks ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് കാണാം. ഞങ്ങള് Schilthorn brunch കഴിച്ചു. Day 4 – Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe
Grindelwald Terminal and Eiger Express Cable Car
Day four ആണ് ഓരോ Switzerland traveller-വും ഏറ്റവും excited ആയി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദിവസം: Jungfraujoch-ലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര. 3,454 metres ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള Europe-ലെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള railway station ആണ് ഇത്. Interlaken Ost-ല് നിന്ന് ഞങ്ങള് Grindelwald Terminal-ലേക്ക് train എടുത്തു. ഈ excursion-നായി specifically പണിത modern cable car station ആണ് Grindelwald Terminal. അവിടെ നിന്ന് December 2020-ല് opened ചെയ്ത tri cable gondola ആയ Eiger Express-ല് കയറി.
Eiger Express ride breathtaking ആണ്. Gondola famous North Face of the Eiger-ന്റെ താഴെക്കൂടി പോകും. World-ലെ ഏറ്റവും legendary climbing walls-ല് ഒന്നാണ് അത്. 15 മിനിറ്റില് Eigergletscher station-ല് എത്തും. അവിടെ നിന്ന് Jungfrau Railway-ലേക്ക് transfer ചെയ്യും. Jungfraujoch Top of Europe special ആകുന്നത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?

Day 5 – Grindelwald First and Cliff Walk
Grindelwald ഈ Region-ന്റെ heart ആകുന്നത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?
Final day ഞങ്ങള് കുറച്ച് lighter ആയി വച്ചു. Relaxed weekend vibe ഉള്ള charming alpine town ആയ Grindelwald-ലേക്ക് പോയി. Interlaken Ost-ല് നിന്ന് train ഏകദേശം 35 മിനിറ്റ് എടുക്കും. Grindelwald itself slow ആയി enjoy ചെയ്യേണ്ട സ്ഥലമാണ്. Flower boxes നിറഞ്ഞ wooden chalets, mountain bakeries, ചെറിയ souvenir shops, എല്ലാ directions-ലേക്കും പോകുന്ന excellent walking paths എന്നിവ ഇവിടെ കാണാം.
Grindelwald First – Adventure Peak
